Professional Expertise

Deepak Lalwani has worked as a change management and business transformation professional for over 12 years. He specializes in planning and managing large-scale change management efforts driven by business transformations that include systems integration, process redesign, post M&A integration, operating model / organization design, and outsourcing / shared services.

His experience includes working as a management consultant at Accenture as part of their Talent & Organization Performance practice. He’s also worked at Carlisle & Gallagher Consulting Group, a mid-sized management & technology consultancy that was voted Top 10 Best Places to Work for in 2012 by Consulting Magazine. In addition to his client responsibilities, he supported the creation of the People & Organizational Change practice during his time there.

Prior to that, he’s worked as an internal consultant and manager at several Fortune 500 companies. At National Grid, he was responsible for planning and managing large-scale organizational design and change initiatives connected to the redesign of the company’s US businesses. He was also responsible for designing and developing an Organization Design & Change professional development program for National Grid globally.

At WellPoint (Empire BlueCross BlueShield), he was responsible for managing their leadership development programs. He was also responsible for planning and managing organization development projects related to specific business issues such as quality, work-life balance, call center effectiveness, employee communications, innovation & risk-taking, and business strategy.

Planned and managed the implementation of changes for a Fortune 100 global services company’s social networking site, and provided thought leadership on PMO transformation

Planned, managed, and delivered the change management approach for a Top 10 US insurer to drive the adoption of the company’s program management (Six Sigma) methodology across its employees effectively

Co-planned and managed the organizational redesign / restructuring of an energy & utility company’s US customer organization to drive customer satisfaction improvements, better position the company for future growth, and reduce operating expenses for a target savings of $4 – 7 million resulting in restructuring of 3,000 employees

Scoped and defined HR business processes for a post M&A integration engagement at a global financial services company; gathered business requirements, created current state business process designs, developed and delivered future state processes, and provided change management support to include the creation of roles for future state designs

Led the change management workstream for an outsourcing and finance transformation at a technology company, developed and delivered the change management strategy to include a Point of View (PoV) presentation on workforce transition management

Supported the change management workstream for a process redesign and ERP implementation for the US Department of Defense that included the creation of instructor-led and web-based training courses that impacted 79,000 end users globally

Planned and managed company-wide business strategy assessment for a Fortune 500 healthcare insurance company, analyzed survey data, developed executive summaries, and presented feedback including recommendations for change to COO and SVP of HR
